The excitement has built steadily over the past few months for construction to start on the latest Dolphins community initiative, Dolphins Central shopping centre. We are proud to announce that Dolphins Central is finally underway!
Whilst recent deluges of rain have kept residents ankle-deep in nature’s precious natural resource, construction on the much-anticipated shopping centre continues to push forward.
You may be asking how construction can continue when water fills the trenches. Rest assured there is no trickery with levitation, or even the presence of an army of hair dryers – the solution is much simpler. This is the time when plans are checked and rechecked, supplies are ordered and phone calls are made. It’s a time when every moment is utilised to ensure the best possible shopping centre is delivered when the time comes to open the doors on October 1st.
This is also a great time for local businesses to explore new opportunities. Those who have seen the construction commence on Ashmole Road may now be curious about the possibilities that such a venture could offer their customers. The centre is still searching for businesses such as fast food or personal services to complete the offering at Dolphins Central.
Dolphins Central is perfectly situated: on the main road leading into Newport whilst sitting right next door to Redcliffe’s premier club – Redcliffe Leagues Club. On one hand, you have strong traffic flow from the main road, whilst on the other many patrons who frequent the leagues club and the footy grounds will also make their way down the undercover walkway to the shopping centre.
Then there’s the trusted Dolphin brand – deeply entrenched in community support and family ties, continuing to drive forward with diversity and innovation to ensure the future of the club and the community.

Many local residents have already expressed their interest in utilising the supermarket and specialty stores found in the complex. It is the combination of convenience without compromise that has the community excited.
“The site is ideally suited for the location of a Coles supermarket on two major roads with the sports centre and licenced Club guaranteeing a steady flow of customers”, Andy said.
Specialty stores will strengthen the offering, with a bottleshop, pharmacy, hair dresser, and bakery already signed up for the opening.
